MILITANTS DUCKED.
ACCUSED DISCHARGED. (Received June 3rd, 10.5- r>.m.) LONDON, June 3. Threo men were charged with attempting to duck suffragettes in a pond, but tho magistrate discharged them with a caution without hearing their defence, remarking that it was impossible for him to shut his eyes to the fact that tho suffragettes' behaviour had created strong resentment and disgust.
During the. hearing of the Maida Vale case, Nellie Hall continuously interrupted the proceedings. Sho warned tho magistrate that his house would be burned down.
The polico -produced a letter, purporting to be signed by a well-known suffragette, in which it was stated that a .lady's secretary had planned to burn her mistress's house in rdvengo for non-militancy. The houso was subsequently burned.
The burning of Wargravo Church has aroused intense indignation. Tho remains of three exploded bombs were discovered in the ruins.
