(By Caile.—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received June 2nd, 10.40 p.m.) OTTAWA, June 1. Tho Houso of Commons discussed the arrival of tho shipload of Hindoos at Vancouver. The Hon. Frank Oliver declared that the Hindoos had challenged Canada, and tbe challenge ought to be met. He asked tho Government to enforce the section of tho .Immigration Act preventing the Courts dealing with immigration matters otherwise provided fori Mr Borden replied that when the time camo tho section of the Act would bo enforced. A board of enquiry had been appointed to investigate th© case of each Hindoo attempting to enter Canada. Sir Wilfrid Laurier pointed out that the question was not so much one of keeping Canada white, as of preventing overwhelming economic competition. Friction between the different races of the Empire was a. matter more easily settled by diplomacy than by law. . Mr Borden replied that Sir Wilfrid Laurier's own attempts to settle' the quest-inn by diplomacy had not been very successful.
