AMERICA AND JAPAN.
STRAINED RELATIONS ALLEGED. ("Titnes" and "Sydney Sun" Services.) (Received June 2nd, 7.45 p.m.) NEW YORK, Juno 1: Relations between the United States and Japan are drifting into dangerous, waters. What is perilously near an impasse has been reached if there is any truth in tho reports from* Tokio that, on account of tho domestic situation, tho Japanese Government is determined to find in tho Califoraian land law an excuse to press for equal treatment of its .subjects by nations of the West. American opinion is adamant against Asiatic admixture.
