COURT OF ENQUIRY
TO OPEN ON THE 9th INST
OTTAWA, June 1. The Government has fixed June 9th as the date for tho opening of tho Empress of Ireland enquiry. Two judges ot tho Canadian Admiralty Court and ono representative'of tho British Admiralty will compris© tho Court. The Houso of Commons passed an amendment to tho Shipping Act providing for a separate Commission to investigate tho disaster. Sir Wilfrid Laiirier, Leader. of the Opposition, endorsed the Bill, which was read a second time, and tho third reading fixed for tho following day. Tho amendment provides for the appointment of tho Canadian Admiralty judges above-mentioned.
