CHRISTCHURCH PRESBYTERY'S CONDOLENCES.

At yesterday's special meeting of tho Christchureh Presbytery, tho clerk (the Rev. C. Murray) referred to the sinking of the Empress of Ireland, and said that the great disaster that had occurred had affected some New Zealand homes. He moved: — "That the Christchureh Presbytery records its deep sorrow at the loss of the Empress of Ireland, and extends its profound sympathy to the relatives of thoso who have beei: t-:ken, ;in.l especially sympathisors with the Salvation Army, which lost so many of its adherents."' The motion was agreed to in silence, members of Presbytery standing.
