(BY OUK COirMEBCIAL EDITO***..) In consequence of the general holiday for tho King's Birthday the Addington live stock market was held yesterday instead of on Wednesday as usual. The general all-round yarding for all classes of 'stock was smaller than usual, and the attendance of farmers, butchers, and exporters was also smaller. STORE SHEEP. The yarding of storo sheep was a small oiie, and consisted principally ot iambs, Hie hulk being maue up oi a row pens of ewes and wethers. At the opening there was a small attendance, but it improved later. At the beginning tne sam tor iamus was slow, prices being below those ruling at earlier sales, tne sale being a little dragging- This,
however, was only momentary, an improvement being soon noticoahie, and at the close the prices were quite equal to tnose ruling a week earlier. The few lots, of wethers on offer were mostly forwaid sorts, and sold well at unchanged prices, and the same remarks a PPIy to ewes, which .sold at satisfactoiy pr.ces. Quotations: — Best lambs, los 9d to 14s Gd. Hood iambs, i"i.s Od to 13s Od. Medium to good iambs, Ms Od to 12s 3d.

The yarding of fat lambs was a comparatively small one, 21G3 being-penned us agai;i_L 77U5 last week. Tiio quality was very uneven, ranging from inuiuerent to "good. 'Ilie sale opened rather weakiy, lint after the hist few pens were quitted prices hardened up again, and. c'onsideiiiiij tho quality, values were quite as high as last week, tiio over-all price being about 6-„d to.fi}per lb. FAT SHEEP. L The yarding of fat sheep was _ smaller'than last week, and tho bulk , of the entry was composed of ewes. A good deal of the entry was of' but modium quality, « but tne values ail through were on a par with late rates. , Butcners had evidently bought heavily < at the previous week's market, for they were not very active, and-exporters took a large proportion of tho offerings. . ■ . The range of prices was:— Prime wethers, 21s 6d to 275. Others, 16s 2d to 21s. Prime ewes, 18s to .24s 9d. Medium, 15s to 17s (id. Aged and light, Us Id to 14 s 6d. The j bulk of tho beef offered was of a good 1 class, somo being quite exceptional, and owing to the smaller entry there was an improvement in the demand, resulting in an advance in prices equal to Is per 1001b, tho current price being 26s to 29s 6d. VEALERS. There was an ordinary entry of fat calves, the quality as usual covering a wide range, and values wero unchanged, running from 8s to £3 ss, extra" good sorts making to £5 ss. STORE CATTLE. Sto"-e cattle was limited to 23 head, principally cows of an inferior class, and consequently it was not surpns- { mc to find that the demand was weak, , few buyers being amongst those present. "Quotations are:— Fifteen to eightoon-months sorts, £3 18s. i Three-year steers, £> 18s. Cows, £1 10s to £3 10s. _- DAIRY COW'S. _ small yarding of dairy cows included somo very useful animals, and, as usual at this season ot the yeai, _oodcow. were in keen request. Prices ranged fiom £3 10s to £10 los, extra making to £12 15s. PIGS. The yarding of fat pigs was a oommritivelv small one. the bulk of the £; being of secondary _Jgss Tho demand was on a par with that of the previous week.
