OUD BOYS (13) v. ALBION (3).
An uninteresting game of a scrambling nature between these teamon the Wost Ground resulted in tho "Whites gaining a somewhat easy win by 13 points to 3. Old Boys won the toss, and Albion kicked off. From a lot of -crumbling, play Old Boys were forced. Tho Whites then pushed play to the Blacks' line, where Guthrie was nearly orer. Ryder miskicked, but gained po-seseion and the Blacks had a lucky force. Immediately afterwards, Bain forced the Blacks with a good, though fruitless, shot at goal. The Blacks worked play to the other ond, where Jordan just missed a goal. The Whites rallied, and had tho Blacks hard at it to keep their lino clear, and a force down gave relief. Faulty passing by the Whites lost them several chances and although they kept up a persistent attack, halftime sounded with no score.
Tho Whites .jumped off in good style after the resumption ■of play, and Otley missed a good chance through not having a go. A good passing rush by the Whites followed, and Guthrie got over under tho post-, and Bain easily converted. Old Boys 5, Albion nil. Offside nlay by E. Taylor gave the Blacks a tree kick, and Jordan kicked a goal. Old Boys 5, Albion 3. From the H. Taylor made a great run, and just failed to score, and the Blacks were forced. The "Whites kept up tho pressure, and Guthrie got over and converted with an easy kick. Old Boys 10, Albion 3. Good play by Ryder gave the Blacks relief, but the Whites came back, and Taylor dashed over at tho corner, and was somewhat badly hurt. Bain failed with tho kick. Old Roys 13, Albion 3. Time then sounded, leaving Old Boys winners by 13 points (ono try and two converted tries) to 3 points (a penalty goal). Mr W. Duggan was referee.
