SATURDAY'S RESULTS. Sydenham (20) v. Addington (4). Linwood (26) v. City (10). Tho weather and ground conditions matches on Saturday, and the spectators were rewarded by two interesting fixtures. ,

SYDENHAM (20) v. ADDINGTON (4). These teams met on the oval, and after a good exhibition by their backs, Sydenham won by a substantial marS in - , - , , - , Lyes set the game in motion by Uickingoff towards the northern goal, and almost immediately B. Bus-ell got his backs going, W. Bussell, King, and Sraytho successfully handling, the latter going over wide out, but he was unsuccessful with his kick at goal. A fine bout of passing by tho Bits-sell Brothers, W. King, Gassou, Smytho, and Loader, gave' tho latter a try, which W. Bussell failed to improve. From a penalty wide out Stevens kicked a splendid goal. The Sydenham backs continued their attack, a long kick by Hardingham, and fast following up by Saunders ended up by a penalty to Addington. from which Stevens placed a good goal. A run by Loader, and smart passing by Smytho and Kirton let the latter over between tho posts. Smythe converting tho try. Busscl! got his backs going agnin, and a run by Robert-son gave JJrunsden a try, which Smythe converted. Half time shortly after sounded. Reid resumed hostilities, and tho Cardinals at once attacked, and a passing rush by AY. Bussell, Gasson, Lyes, and Loader let tho latter overj Smytho converting. W. King, Eaton, and Robertson were prominent for a good rush, and a penalty on the Blacks' twentyfive added to the Cardinals' scon?, Smytho kicking a splendid goal. Smytho next scored, A. Smith failing with the kick, and then W. King scored, Smythe's kick hitting the post as timo sounded, Sydenham thus winning by 29 points (7 tries, 4 goals) to 4 points (2 goals). Referee, Mr D.
