DUNEDIi>, May 29. In-tho Garrison Hall this evening, the Prime Minister addressed a crowded houso on a large number of political questions, his speech being mainly on the lines of those delivered by him in tho South earlier inthe week. He outlined the programme of the coming session, as'in his Invercargill speech, promising, among other tnings, amendments in the industrial law, and also in,the licensing law, electoral, law, and in the Education Act. Mr Massey. also promised further legislation to encourage, tho fruit industry. He said an Asjatio Immigration Bill would \be brought down which would stop immigration of Asiatics to this country. - ' A: motion of '> thanks and confidence, and pledging the meeting" to support the Massey Government, was proposed and seconded.
An amendment of thanks to Mr Massey for his address, bnt expressing disapproval of the tactics adopted ->y the Government to capture Cie ury benches, "as such, were calculated to demoralise party was pro.po«ed. but the motion was carried t>y a very large, majority.
