CHARGE OF CONCEALMENT OF BIRTH.

AUCKLAND, May 29
At the inquest en the booy of a newly born cuiid. a statement made to tho police by the niotuer'of the child, Mary Agues* Brown, was put in. She stated sho was \n single woman, twenty-five years of age. She admitted she • gave bjrth to the child. It was dead. • oiio put it in' a dress-ba-ket.
The Coroner returned a verdict that tho death of the child had resulted from hemorrhage or exposure owing to the absence of skilled assistance.
Subsequently Mary Brown was arrested, and charged with concealment of birth.
She was bail being allowed in one surety of £25.
