CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION.

.A meeting of delegates to the Canterbury Lawn Tcunia Association wae held last evening, Mr A. Borrows presiding over an attendance of tten delegates. The president of the Kaikoura\Ciub wrote thanking the Canterbury Association for sending a team, end aeking tor more matches between tie two centres. It was decided to reply that the Association would keep the matter in view. The Morvon Club applied for pcrmisaion to affiliate with the Otago .centre, ac Oamaru was a more convenient centre than, 'iimaru. It waa resolved to refuse permission, and to point out that it would be anoro advantageous to affiliate with Canterbury.

Mr A. W. McKay, secretary of the Riccorton Club, wrote regarding a- proposal that a. number of outside clubs at present not a-ffiJi&ted with the Association, should affiiiate. It waa decided to favourably consider the .proposal, and if the clubs fell in with tho euggestion, to inaugurate % competition and present a shield for the purpose. The Otago Association wrote thanking Canterbury for its reception of tho Otago team at the annual tournament Special thanks were due to the local secretary, Mr E J Tayler.

The Auckland Association wrote thanking the Canterbury Association . for its support in «gaxd to the proposed Waikato Association.

Tho eecretary, Mr E. J. I'ayler, presented a report on the East-er tournament, the schools tournament, inter-club matches and the aaaus! interprovincial match with Otaeo The chaanna.n remarked on the ereat eucoeae of tho annual tournament, and the promising players in the echools tourney Jotoa oi manta were to the Avon. «nde and Lmwood Cluha for the use of their courts for the annual tournament, and to Mr J. H. Kitk for presenting a medS to the winner of the inter-club eingleg. '
