The annual meeting of the Sydenham Bowling Club waa held last evening.' Mr J. Y. Boat tie presided, and a. large number of members . were. prosent. ■ -.. ■ The report stated that the membership was ■- 75 active and 4 honorary members. A vote of thinks was • accorded the out- _ going officers, aieo the donors of prizes, -if€ssTS F. C. East, Beattie, and Chegwin. . It was decided to pay off 13 debentureholders. . . '. ■ The question of Pennant competition wae discussed .at length. ' Mr "N.. Young, president of the Centre, said that a- public discussion •was taking place in the columns of the "Evening News," and a number of schemee had been advanced. Personally ha favoured the one presented by Mr ■. JL - H. Bourn, as.it would, in his opinion, meet all requirements. Last year, owing to the matter being-left for the clubs to decide, nothing definite had been arrived at when tho delegates met.* . Messrs; MeGallun, Austin, and C. Taylor also approved of Mr. Bourn's scheme. Mr W. iD. Marks moved, and it was carried, that the. dnb enter for the Pennants' competition. ft Mr T. McGallan moved—"That the echem* presented by Mr Bourn, and published in the •News, , ■be approved by the club." Mr r>.' Prttchard seconded the motion. Mr "W. T>. Marks moved as an amendment —"That the matter of deciding which scheme should be adopted, be left over until a later date, when the various, schemes had been more fully 'considered."- ---: The amendment was lost, and'the motion carried by'a large majority.
