SUFFERING FROM SEVERE
SHOCK

Satisfactory progress' was reported tonight in regard to all the passengers who woro injured in the railway disaster at Whangamarino. The nervous shock caused by their terrible experience in the wrecked sleeping car was modified for sbmo hours by tbeir excitement, but the four passengers who euffored most had all developed symptoms ot' severe, shock to-day. Thoso who escaped physical injury were- also virtuaiiv prostrated. ihu condition of Mr Goldingham was eiigatiy imiuoved. Ho was ablo to sleep ior aoout tiireo hours during tho num. but ho is sutieaug uom severe nervous shock, aud will bo connned to Lis bc-d for souio time. His physical injuries include a deep wound Jieiow the. leiL eye, ana extensive bruising on tho shoulders. . , , {Satisfactory progress is being made by Air John Svvmaon, of Wellington, wrio is a patient in tho Waikato Hospital. His right thigh is fractured: j.vir Swinson had a fairly good night. Mr H. A. Fox, of Wellington, is apatient in the Mount Pleasant Hospital. He is suffering from shock and bruisings, and had one too dislocated. To-night ho was reported to bo progressing favourably. The physical injuries received by Mr H. G. Mackay, of Melbourne, were not serious. . Donaldson, the porter who was in charge at Whangamarino. was in tho city to-day, carrying his fractured arm in a cling. He is suffering also from very general bruising, as ho was thrown off "the points lever as though from a catapult. \
