Alexander Tough, on remand, pleaded guilty to a charge of drunkenness, and was convicted and discharged.

Joseph Entwhistle and John Dickio, found drunk in a railway carriage, were each fined 20s ; in default seven days' imprisonment.

James Tyler, charged with being dnink in a railway carriago and with refusing to par his fare, was fined 20s, in default seven days' imprisonment, on the first charge, and convicted and ordered to pay 2s 2d (the fare) on the othor, in default -IS horn's , imprisonment. THEFT. William Ewing, who pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing three trap rugs., value £2 6s <3d, the property of Georgo Scott, was fined 40s, in default ono month's imprisonment. Ernest Marks, a steward on the Monowai, pleaded guilty to the theft of £11 Is 9d, the property of Jphn Beckett, and was fined 40s 3 in default one mouth's imprisonment. JUDGMENT BY DEFAULT. Judgment for plaintiff, by default, ■was given in tho following cases:— Boath and Co., Ltd. (Mr Cuningham) v. Raymond llapley, £1 9s; Bowron Bros. 'Export and Trading Co., Ltd. (Mr Wilding) v. T. Martinson. £10 Is Id ; Thomas Brown, Ltd. (Mr Macdougall) v. Herbert William Hill, £1 2s; Bell Bros. v. E. Georgo, £2 os; John Berry v. J. P. Kiordan, £1 Os 8d; D. Archer" (Mr Amodeo) v. J. Richards, £4 as; Smith and Smith, Ltd. V. Arthur E. Pollard, £1 os 10d. A FAMILY DISPUTE. Patrick John Young and Robert Wilson (Mr Weston) claimed from William Young (Mr Donnelly) and Robert Young (Mr Cassidy) the sum of £177 10s and costs. It was eet out in tlm statement of claim that the plaintiffs sued as oxecutors of Catherine- Graham, deceased, under probate granted October 7th, 1913, the amount in disoute being alleged to be moneys lent and advanced by the testatrix on Juno 12th, 1909, and November 4th, 1909. Soveral members of the family gave evidence at considerable length. Aftor bearing considerable evidence, his Worship said that it was no use going any further. On tho evidence given, th'e plaintiffs were not entitled to recover, but ho thought that the suit was necessary to clear up certain points. Ho would not allow any costs. Judgment would be for defendants.

BREACH OF CONTRACT. Philip Walter Soanes (Mr H. K. McDougall) claimed from Charles Myers, of 231 Elizabeth street, Melbourne, £78 8s Id, special.damages, and £100 general damages, for an alleged broach of agreement. There was no appearance of defendant. The'statement of claim set out that under the terms of tho agreement, defendant appointed the plaintiff sole subagent or seller in New Zealand of an electric alarm cash box, for the term of twenty years, subject to tho right of either party to determine the agreement by three months' notice in writing. In consideration of' the appointment, plaintiff was to purchase 25 of the cash, boxes and to do his best to promote the sale of the boxes. Plaintiff had applied to the defendant specifically to perform tho said agreement, but ne bad not- done so.

After hearing evidence of two witnesses to prove the points of the claim, his Worship gave judgment for the plaintiff for tho full amount claimed, with costs according to scale.
