There was a heavy yarding of fat lambs, totalling 7795, and including some lara© lines. The bulk of the offerings consisted of light and untinished lambs, which arc now being got rid of on account of .the scarcity of feed. There was keen competition , throughout tho sale on the part of exporters. The market opened rather easier than last week, but firmed considerably towards tho close, tho averago value ranging from 6id to Old per lb over all. Tho range of prices was:—

STORE CATTLE. Tho yarding of storo cattlo was a small one, being confined to about 30 head, the majority of which were old cows. Tho demand was weak,, buyers being few .and far between.

Thcs dairy cows offered were a useful lot, and there were a fair number yarded. Tho demand was freo, especially for good sorts, and prices ranged from £3 os to £9 17s 6d, extra making to £12 10s. PIGS. The yarding of fal. pigs was a comparatively small one, but mainly of good quality. Thero was fair competition, and prices were about on a par with those ruling a. week earlier. Quotations were:—

Choppers, £3 to £5 10s. Heavy baconers, 60s to 6->s. Extra heavy baconers, to 7fts Ordinary baconers, 47s to 555. Price per lb, sid. Heavy porkers, 42s to 455. Light porkers, 36s to 40s. Price per lb, 6d. Store pigs cam© forward in comparatively small numbers, and there was a scarcity of well-grown animals. The demand was better than at the proviotts wilo. competition being more free. Quotations :— Best etores, 3Ss to 41s 6d. Medium stores. 30s to 375. Small stores, 20s to 28s. Wcaners, 8s 3d, for very small pigs. to 10s Gd for good animals. Sows with litters, £0 10s to £6 15e.
