Shortly before 1 o'clock this morning die Firo Brigade received a cali to 100 Brougham street, a 5-roomed house, - owned by Mr Banfield. of Rangiora, - and occupied by Mrs .Anna Stevens and Mrs lies. The building was practically destroyed. Mrs Stevens had her effects insured for £75, but Mrs Ilea had Po insurance on her property. Mrs lies was rather badly cut about the face and hands in making her escape •hrough a window.
