GUSTAV HAMEL MISSING.

BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN LOST IN THE ENGLISH CHANNEL. (By Cable.—Press Assoc iitioo. —Copyright.) LONDON, May 24. Hamelj, the aviator, is missing. Ho left Boulogne on Saturday afternoou, but his engine was apparently unsatisfactory, and later there were vague reports that he quitted Calais in a fop and a strong westerly wind.

Ho had crossed the Channel twenty times, but never in such conditions.

Twelve British destroyers and two sea-planes vainly searched for him throughout tho day.

It is hoped that some steamer has picked him up.
