At a luncheon given by tho Millions Club, Senator Millon, referring to tho Military Department, said continuity of policy would bo devised by which they would bo able to anticipate the future, making provision for necessities concerned. At present the Departmen was obliged to go slow.
Regarding a suggestion that tho Australian vaseels vera built for service not necessarily in Australian waters, ho said that tho fleet should bo kept here. Even if its fighting force were nil, men could not be trained for ». distant fleet, nor could naval sentiment bo stimulated by such a policy.
