TAI TAPU ROADS.
TO THE EDITOR OF "THE PRESS." Sir.—Allow mo through the medium f your paper to ventilate a grievance •'/rich, luckily, has befallen very few istricts in New Zealand. Quite re?ntly I met » friend from England, .ho remarked what fine roada we had
n our country. I just said. "Wait I til! you come to Tai Tapu." Thfi Paparua Couucilhas, the honour of having tho most disgraceful roads to b a . seen. Tho roads around Tai Tapu am ! to-day a disgrace to any County Coun- : HI. Tho main street in Tai Tapu has j been covered with farmyard metal, .vhich has been neither blinded nor rolled, so that the sides of the road aro :>. perfect quagmire, being about a foot deep in mud. The way the metal has
boen spread on other roads makes one think that a horse has bolted with a load of shingle, vrhich cradually foil out ai each jolt. New Ifis about time that this was rectified. Arc the residents paying taxes for such roads as these? Tho only remedy that 1 can soo is that the Paparua County Council should get fresn blood at tie head of affairs.—Yours, etc., TAI TAPDIAX.
