LAND SALE AT ASHBURTON.

On Saturday Messrs Friedlander Bros, offered at public auction, on account of Mr J. G. LiUey, a farm situated at Lyndhurst, and comprising 781 acres of first-class land. There was a good attendance. A block of 360 acres of the farm was first put up, but there being no offer, the farm was put up as a whole, with a like result. It was then withdrawn to be sold privately. The same firm also submitted for public competition, on account of tho trustees in the estate of-the.late W. Hampton, a farm of 517 acres, situated at Lauriston. This was also withdrawn, to bo sold privately.
