MAGISTERIAL.
. (Before Mr H. "W. Bishop, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Two first offenders were convicted and discharged. Another first offender was convicted and discharged. He had been arrested at Addington, where he had been demanding the release of a woman who was serving time in the local gaol for being -£20 in arrears on a maintenance order. The Magistrate reduced the arrears to £10, which accused paid.
Two other first offenders wero each fined ss, in default 24 hours' imprisonment.
"William W. "Perry, a second offender, ■was fined 10s, in default forty-eight hours' imprisonment.
A BROKEN ORDER
Daniel Chnstie was fined 10s, in default 48 hours' imprisonment, on a charge •of procuring liquor while prohibited, and was convicted on a charge of drunkenness.
v, VAGRANCY. Maggie "Williams, charged with drunkenness, and with being an idle and disorderly person, pleaded not guilty to the vagrancy charge. Sergeant Jackson said that duruu. the many iong years he had known the woman, he had nevor heard of her doing any work. The Magistrate: There are over two hundred previous conTictions against her.
The accused, who is commonly known ms "Opium Mag," waa sentenced to three months' imprisonment, with hard labour.
