COUNTY COUNCILS.
BANGIORA,
The monthly meeting of the Rangiera County Council was held yosteruny. Present —Messrs F. Horrell (chairman), W. H- Stokes, A. Mclntosh, W; Stalker, L. W. Campion, and H. Tollett. Messrs Johnston and Mills forwarded an opinion regarding works dono by the Sefton Drainage Board in the Ashley. Air B. Ferguson asked for a drain to be cleaned in Bramley'e road, Flaxton. — Left in the hands of the Land Board to have the work done, the Council to pay half the.cost. Messrs B. Liggett and J. Petrie wrote regarding assistance in the matter of erecting an embankment on the south side of the Ashley to prevent overflow on to their properties.—lt was decided that the members of the Council inspect the locality between the sea , and Mount Ihomas ford. It was decided to erect a shed for the Council's property at \Voodend. It was resolved to ask Mr R. Mac Donald, manager of Andrews, Irvine Works, if the company would contribute towards the cost of the upkeep of the roads, over which the company's extensive traffic passed, otherwise the Council would be compelled to take action under the Public 4 v.orks Act. The chairman moved—"That the middle line of the Ashley sewer be-the northern boundary of the county, in accordance with section 153 of the Counties Act."—Carried. Mr J. McGrath wrote complaining of holes in the road near his land.—Referred to tho surveyor. It was decided to arrange with the Union Bank of Australia for an overdraft of £3000, At a special meeting the balance-sheet for the year rvas adopted.
