Mr D. C. Batoe, Government Meteorologist, supplied the following weather summary and forecast at 5 p.m. yesterday:—

A southerly etorm hae prevailed, with cold and ehowery weather, hail, eleot, and snow being reported on. the high country and in parts of the East Coaat. The barometer hae risen fast and is now about normal everywhere, excepting at East Cape.

Present indication* are for' moderate to strong southerly winds, cold and changeable conditions prevailing for a ehoit timoj but fair weather predominating soon. The barotneter ie rising every where. -
