As a BK-mber of ths Canterbury Cricket Association, ho was extremely plcaecd to be present, and lie congxatu ated the City and Suburbar Association cr its proud r.ofition of being numerically "tja strongest Association in th~ district. The Association in its endeavoi'r to sscuro new was undertaking a bg roepon&:bi"ity, but h> hoped that their cSorts would meet with complete success H© feH sure that cricket in Canterbury would largely benefit as ttc result c-f the work of the City and Suburban' Crfcket Association..

In connexion with. th£ 'question of grounds, he hoped that nest season the majority cf the matches wouJd bo played in tho South Park, where tbe Domain Board was levelling and draining the prouud. The executive was doing its best to help the projsct, and waa beinp ably assisted by the Hockey Aeaociation. Tho City and Subirban Cricket Association wae making- great acd h« hoped that in the near future there would he an amalgamatioa 01 the two Associations. ■
Tho' chairman then presented thag-eenior competition shield to captains of the le'ingtcn and Hornby and. the Sydenham Hockey Clubs, which had tied with 23 points in the A 6ectiou and to tho captain of the Druids' Club which had won the B section with 12 points. J. Kenworthv, K«ane. and Andrews renlied en beha'f of therr respective clubs.

A number of other toasta were honoured and a lengthy musical programme filled up a very pleasant evening.
