At; the E'sit Chrislchurch Amateur Swimming Club's annual' smoking Concert and-pre-sentation of prizes, Mr H. Berry (president) occupied the. chair, _ and there was a largo attendance of club members, ; tojjeth<ir with representatives of the N.Z.A.S.A. and tho Canterbury Centre. , The following toasts were honoured- ' Ihe King"; "Th« New Zealand Amateur Swimming -Association," proposed by Mr "W. Tnhnson and responded to by Mr P. Bundle ; 'Canterbury Centre," proposed by Mr O Bryant and responded to by Mr G. Sandereon; "Inteir-club-Handicapper, proposed by Mr H. Williainn and responded to by Mr G. ■eh: "Royal Life-Saving Society," proposed v Mr E. Eldridgfl and to by Mr '. B'Hson: , "Kindred Club 3," proposed by Mr F. Stnkcs «nd.'respr>rdod to by Mr "R Vincent (Ohris+ehwcM; Mr F C. Fantham «fc Coaat>, Mr H. Yardly (Richmond) and Mr C. Taylor ("Brighton Surf Club); ' a, ar \ "The Press." Turin? tho evening the prices won by the members .during the season weio presented. A eplendid musical orosrramjne was provide, and Messrs S. Robinson, S Perry, J. Mpnelaus, and Healy contributed items, and Mr L. Cookson gave a"splendid exhibition of card tricJts. Mr J. Dufcn acted a& accompanist.
