Andrew Poison, mate of the schooner Morning Light, was the; victim of, a. pamful accident at Lyttelton at about Jl.io yesterday morning. * The vessel was engaged in the" discharge, of timber at Gladstone-Pier,' arid Poison was,stand-; ing on deck supervising tho work. A sling ; of,' - timber had just been raised clear of the hatch, when, as a result of the shipgivirie a lurch, the load struck him on the leg, breaking it in two places. .The; iniured man was given , medical attention by Dr. Gnthrie, and was subsequently removed to his home.
