CO-OPERATIVE PURCHASING.
AN AUCKLAND SCHEME
(PKZSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.)
AUCKLAND, May 20. A scheme to bring about the affiliation of the various Trading Associations in Auckland was brought under the notice of the Farmers' Trading Association by the Auckland representative of tho New Zealand Public Borneo Cash Purchase Association, who foreshadowed the enrolment of the great body of affiliated Associations reaching over the whole Dominion, and eventually linking up with the great co-operative Associations in the Old Country.
In the course of the discussion, relerer.ee' was made to the action being taken by the Waterside Workers' Union and Seamen' 6 Union to arrange for cooperative purchasing. One speaker expressed the opinion that in a short time every trades union in Auckland would be taking similar action. The meeting confirmed the principle of affiliation, and referred the Public Service Association's proposals to tho directors, to report to a special meeting to deal finally therewith.
