This is the opening of an export trade to West of England ports. The Westmeath will take away some thousands of saciis, and it it. hoped to get away a larger quantity next month. The freight by this month's boat is 27s <5d per ton, and for next month it will be 255. It is. not considered that there will be any profit at present prices in an export' trade to the United Kingdom, but it will form an, outlet for stocks. New Zealand oats are quoted at 2s Gd per bushel in London, ko that when all cha-rges are paid they will net considerably le.ss than 2s per bushel. Canadian and Argentine oats are quoted at much lower prices than New Zealand grown. The. potato market is quiet, and buyers are not inclined to do business lit £3 per ton at country stations, the Auckland marker being heavily supplied ait the present time. ■ Cowgrass. .seed has declined in price in consequence of the low quotations that are being received from London. i The undermentioned are the prices paid to farmers at country stations, free of commission, sacks extra, excepting where otherwise stated : — "Wheat—Tuscan. 3s 7d to 3s 3d; Hunter's, 3s Sd to 3s 0d: Pearl. 3s Qd t6 3s 10d; fowl wheat. 3s 4d to 3s f>l. Oats—Algerian, Is 7d to Is 8d : Danish/ Is 6d; Dims. Is 7d to Is 8d; Gartons, Iβ 6d to ls.Sd. Barley—Prime malting (nominal); medium and inferior. 2s 6d to 3s. Ryegrasses 6d to 2s 9d for best samples: Is 6d to Is 8d for inferior. • Cocksfoot—Bright nnd heavy samples, up to 4id; average. 3d to 3id. . White Clover—9d to 10d.
