WELLINGTON, May 19. At the inquest on tho victims of Sunday morning's fire at the Manchester Private Hotel, in Courtenay place, the Coroner returned a verdict that death was due. to accidental burning; that the fire escapes were sufficient, and that no blame was attachable to anyone in connexion with the 'fire.
The dead woman has been definitely identified as Susannah who was for some years separated from her Tho man has not yet been identified. ' •TJMARC. May 19. A watersider named A. H. Toogood, 28 years of age, whilst employed in removing, hatches on board the Wcslmeath this evfiitin? stepped back upon one that was partly removed, and fell eleven feet to the next deck, striking a crossbeam with his back as he fell. Ho was removed to the hospital.
