SHEARERS' CONFERENCE.

WELLINGTON, May 19. At the shearers' conference, "it was Jecided that a deputation wait on the Minister-q? Labour with regard to accommodation and amending the Arbitration Act to allow of registration of Dominion Unions. Tho question of [lagging sheep was discussed, and it was unanimously resolved that members be notified that dagging w«s not and whero tho employers neglected to dag sheep, shearers should refuse to do it. Later. Tho Shearers' Conference concluded to-day. Mr Laracy, general secretary, reported that Jbe liad endeavoured to arrange for a deputation , from tho Conference -to wait on. the Prime Minister, but had been nnaMe to get a satisfactory answer.- He moved: —"That if the Conference does not. dnring tho •ift«rnoon. receive a telephone- message, that Mr Massey is ready to receive a "deputation, as he promised earlier to do, wo take no further eteps in tho matter." Tho motion was adopted. No further communication (states the official. report) was received from the Minister of Labour, therefore no deputation waited on him. Mr Laracy was appointed to represent tho Shearers'■ Association at tho July Conference." " A resolution was adopted deprecating in connexion with the Methodist Home and others in connexion with the strike, and .asking for the release of the men now in prison, and the repeal of the sedition: laws. . •
