N.Z. UTILITY POULTRY CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING

The annual general meeting of the New Zealand Utility Poultry Club was held last evening. The president .(Mr A. E. Wilson) prteid'ed "over a* large attendance of members. .

The annual - report: stated that tho j'ear just past had been a most eucj?essful one. The committee was pleased to report the excellent financial position of tho'club. The amount received for eggs (£411) was the second largest sum received during any period «'! twelve months since the inception oi the Club. During the year a considerable sura had been epent on improvements which had added considerably to the aeset3. At the Christchurch Club's fehow, five gold medals were presented by the Club for. competition among the members, and five inoro would be presented at the coming onow. At the beginning of the previous year an Education Committee Jiad been set up, which had dono much*valuable work. The Disease Committee had. also dono invaluable work for the Club. Tho reports of the Reporting Committee had-been', a cause of gratification to tho members, .and to -distant- competitors. It was to be regretted that- owing to lack of time and the difficulty of arranging meetings, the Standard Committee had been unabb to make much progress with the revision of tho standard. Splendid records had been made in the two-year tests for both fowls ami ducks. Although no records had been made in the annual test, the general average had been well maintained. The last year had shown the great possibilities of export trade, and the Club'? ventures in that respect had turned out most successfully. At a late stage in the year the Club had affiliated with the •'Now. Zealand Poultry Association. The balance-sheet ■ showed a credit balance of £140 0s 7d. The report and balance-fiheet were adopted. The following officers were elected:— Patron,' Mr J. Studholme; president, Mr .'A. E. "Wilson; vice-presidents, Messrs J. W. Green, R. W. Hawke, and A. W. Adams: secretary. Mr J. H. Shaw; auditor, Mr E. H. Wyles.
