recruits 111-treated. inadequate sentences. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) BERLIN, May 17. Public indignation forced there-trial of two troopers at I'otsdam, who had been sentenced to six and three weeks' imprisonment respectively, for breaking into tho recruits' dormitory. The recruits were hounded out of their beds at the point of the sword. One was forced to kneel, naked, on tho table, and another to climb on top of a. cupboard aud sing a hymn. Six recruits were sent to the hospital, suffering from sword wounds. Ono had been slashed across the chest. The troopers wero court-martialled, and their sentences increased by 50 per cent.
