The Harvest of the Sea.
Has there been an increase of fish in . the North Sea? This is a question "which, according to "Country Life," fishing-boat owners and fishermen are asking themselves just low. During the oast twelve months the quantities of fish landed at East Coast ports of 7England have eclipsed all previous records. Not only has the herring fishery been an-unprecedented one as regards V the number "of herrings caught and the Amount of-money realised, hut the big .(fleets- of deep-sea trawlers have also V: broken all records. The fishermen i, themselves cannot account for their 'good fortune, and the mystery is made -no.easier, of solution by the confident v.assertion of some of the older men that jV;imtaense quantities of the herrings : :.caught dwring the latter part of' the : -yean were of a kind they had never captured before.
