The entries for tho Christchurch Sheep Dcg, Trials, to be held at Cashmere this week, closed on Saturday with a total of 79. there being 38 in the Heading and Yarding Class, and 41 in the Huntaway. The numbers aro below those of last year, but most of tbe' best-known dogs are entered, including strong contingents from Otago and Southland. There has been a difficulty in getting merino wethers for tho trials, but Mr J. Gillandcrs of Waddington, has kindly consented! to lend what was required, and they are reported to be an exceptionally good lot.

At the riflh annual meeting of the Lincoln Ploughing Match Association, Mr W. G. Mcintosh presided over an attendanco of twenty-five members. The balance-sheet, which showed a credit of £18 10s Od, was adopted. Mr M. F. Ryan was elected president, Mr John Sharp, vice-president, and Mr John Pearson, secretary. The programme was revised. ■ The single-furrow class was (struck out and ono for maiden district double furrows substituted. It was decided to make coulter cut optional in all classes except the maiden district, which is to be for plain ploughing. A challenge cup, to be won twice in succession or three times at intervals, was allotted'to Class A.

' The results of tho Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association's oom* petitions for dairy factories were announced yesterday, as follow;:—Champion Shield and cash prixe awarded annually to tho factory whose output of cheese for the season gains tho highest aggregate points, according to the certificates of the Govornment grader:— Taieri and Peninsula Milk Supply Company, Ltd., Dnnedin, 92.66" points, first; Kaipaxoro Dairy Company, Kaiparoro, 90.59 points, second; Parkvaie Dairy Company, Carterton, 90.58 points, third. Tho Weddel Cup, for factory butter, open to all factories in the Auckland Province, was won by the Mataka-na Co-operative Dairy Company, with 93.81 poinis.
