DUNEDIN PRODUCE TRADE.

Csi'ECIAL TO "THE PRESS.") DUNEDIN, May 16. I Not for years has the shipping trade in produce from Dunedin been as dull as it is at present. It is stated that tho trade has never picked up from the strike. There is very little demand from the North for oats, and buyers' offers do not reach the farmers' values. Business has Been done on the basis of 2s lid f.o.b. for A grade, a price considerably lower than is usual at this time of the year. Some forward business up to December has been taken on by speculative merchants as low as 2s, but trade in grain generally is slack. Farm-

ers do not show a keen desire to sell, and it is stated that close on 10,000 sacks of oats arc being stored in Dunedin till the market price increases.
