ASHBURTON MARKET REPORT.
Wheat —There is a steady business passing on the basis of recent quotations, and for all good quality lines submitted by growers there are buyers at full quoted rates. The quantity on offer direct from growers is still of rather small dimensions, and will no doubt decrease from now on. Prices— S-s. Tuscan 3s 7d to 3s Bd, Hunters 3s 9d, Pearl 3s 9d to 3s 10d, whole fowl wheat 3s 3d to 3s 4d—all prices cv trucks country stations. Oats—A slight lowering in the home freight has caused enquiries from shippers, but at present local prices business is scarcely workable on to-day s London values. Tho demand affects the best quality grain only, and secondclass and inferior command only ordinary attention. Quotes are—A Gartons Is Bd, extra quality Is o.d, B Gartons Is 7d to Is 7_d, Duns (heavy weU coloured) Is 8d to Is Od, light Is 6d to Is 7d Danish Is 4d to Is 6d, Algerians Is 7d to Is Bd—on trucks stations. Chaff—Only a limited demand. Prime grade commands 45s to 50s on trucks; inferior and cow chaff 35s to 40s. ,
