HOKITIKA, May 17. A firo occurred hero this morning, when a four-roomed cottage, occupied by two old men, was destroyed. One of tho men (James Ferguson) was carried out of the building oefore it was gutted, but it was found that he had succumbed. He was a single man /-' years of age. An inquest will be held to-morro_?_
