LONDON, May 16. Tho "Financial Times" states that tho reports of tho Stock Exchango trouble are exaggerated. Oniy £1,000,000 is involved, and it is distributed among some of the largest financial houses in tho world.

A cable message from London on Friday stated that the London Stock Exchange, during the week had passed through a critical time owing to an operator engaged in a. huge speculative movoment, affecting £5,000.000 worth of Canadian stocks, getting beyond his depth. Six of tho leading firms came to the rescue and averted a financial crisis.
