American automobile factories, by confidently plaimin_. huge annual, outputs of cars, have beou able to reduce the cost of construction to a degree impossible to tho English manufacturer, and the British motor trade, has long . - been seriously threatened by American competition. It has been left to. the gre_,t firm of Humber, Ltd., to meet the American invasion by the adoption of American methods. The Huniber works havo been enlarged and reorganised on American lines. The output has been greatly iucreased, and tho price has been wonderfully reduced without tho slightest falliug-off in the magnificent quality and perfect finish which have made the name of Humber ' famous throughout Motordom. Tho result has been a success so instantaneous and unmistakable that to-day the Humber firm, is in the sarno enviable Eosition in the car industry as another ritish firm, the Triumph Company, occupies in the motor-cycle industry. The demand for its products is already exceeding tho supply, and we havo experienced considerable delay in getting delivery of the new 1914 10-23 h.p". . Humber cars ordered by.us. However, one of these cars has now reached our Christchurch garage, and others are to arrive shortly. The first car to arrivo

was immediately purchased by Mr S. ' R. Stedman, our Dunedin agent, whose many years of experience in tho motor .-' trade should be a guarantee as to the excellence of his judgment. It is a four-seater car, with flush-sided streamline body, tapering gently from radiator to extremo rear without angle or prolection. It is finished in rich brown, • beautifully upholstered, fitted with de- •' tachable steel wheels, C.A.V. electric side and toil Lamps., powerful acetylene head-lights, a new pattern "one-man" weatherproof hood, latest type clearvision wind-screen, and exceptionally running boards, to carry luggage. The Humber firm _a_ always been noted

for artistic finish, and this car is quite the neatest and smartest ever introduced to tho Dominion. The price, in Christchurch, with full equipment, is tho modest sum of £365, and we have also to arrive threc-seater models at £360 and two-seaters at £350. Mr Stedman will be in Christchurch for some days, and will be nleascd to give anvono interested a trial run in this fine car. Adams, Ltd., Apenfs for Humber Cars. Garage. 219 Tuam street. (W.
