Very boisterous weather was experienced at Ashburton during Friday night.and throughout Saturday. The weather for the week-end has been unusually'•wintry. A fierce southerly, with bitterly cold rain-squalls, swept up from Cook Straits all Saturday, and throughout the night, while to-day has been full of driving showers, though the sain struggled through the clouds occasionally. Steamers arriving to-day report fearfully rough seas in tho Straits.
