CANTERBURY RUGBY LEAGUE.
The Committor of tho Canterbury Rugby League met on Saturday evening, tbe following delegates being present:—Messrs A. E. Hooper (chairman), H. F. Garrard, F. Mooro, H. Falgar, C. H. B. Poor©, U. F. Simpson, D. Buchanan, R. J. Gapes, R. J. Sterling. F. J- Stevenson, W. Moyle, A. Griffiths., and F. Bowden. A letter horn the Linwood Junior team, protesting against a decision that had occurred in the Federal-Limvood match, was considered. The protest was made from a statement alleged to have "been wade that through a mistake the referee had awarded a force down instead of a try. After hearing tho evidence of E. J. Foster, tho referee, J. F. Turner, . caniain oi the Linwcod team, and A. Worefold, captain of the Federal team, tho protest was dismissed. _, , The Federal Club wftro granted the first use of training grounds for Wednesday evenings. Mr A. Campbell, delegate to the New Zealand Council, wroto stating that the i Question cf selectors for Now Zealand
teams required tho attention of the J Centre. It was decided that three j selectors be> nominated, and Mr i>- ; McGregor was nominated as one. It was al-o decided to forward a recommendation that each selector travel and witness each province playing. j It was decided to support tho proposal that tho IS*-- Zealand ReftfrW ! Association bo represented on tho < Council. I
The question of gate percentage for visiting teams was considered, and it was decided to support, tho proposal that- visiting teams bo allotted 50 per cent. ot tho gross takings, and that the Council's rjoiwmag. bo deleted. On the recommendation of tho Match Commit-too it- was agreed that all matches at the Show grounds commence at -".-l-S p.m. sharp. Mr Poorc announced that each o.nb had beeu supplied wiih number, for players- at » small cost.
For alleged signing of forms, playing, or assisting the League game, and subsequently taking part in Union fixtures, four norsous w.ro disqualified during the pleasure of tho Management- Committee.
