Speaking at a Farewell Parliamentary luncheon, Mr Joseph Cook (Prime Minister) and Mr Andrew Fisher (Leader of the Opposition} eulogised I/ord Donman's administration as Governor-General. Lord Denraan, in replying, said he had been in Australia long enough to Understand the underlying feelings of Australians with regard to a "VThit* Australia," and he recognised that Australia would never be eon tent to rely upon a treaty with any foreign Power, however friendly (hat Power mipht be., for the defence of the Pacific.
