Dufault had the unusual experience of being swept from the stage by a mob of fair admirers. Tho popular" tenor iiad concluded his programme with *iiivictu.sy' and in rc..pon_& to tho inevitable encore, sang the dain.y "yylvehn." Not satisfied even then, ''Drink To Mo Only Wi.h Thine Eyes'" was given, and yet another love-song added, and then tho tenor remained obdurate, bowing repeatedly, but refusing to yield another vote. The onthu_ia_-tic crowd of women surrounded the platform, and, when it was evident that Mr Dufault would sing no more, crowded on to it, fairly overwhelming him. The Dufault farewell concerts will be given at the Theatre Royal on Friday, February 6th, and .Saturday, February 7th. The box plans open on Monday morning at the Dresden. ROYAL ARTILLERY BAND. Arrangements have been made for tho famous Band of the Royal Regiment ot Artillery to re-visit e_ristcnurch on February 10th and 11th, wlien a series of concerts will bo given here at the King Edward Barracks arm Lancaster Park. The band has been in Auckland since the beginning of December, under a special engagement to the Auckland Exhibition. Further negotiations recently conducted with the British Army authorities enabled the season of the band to be extended for an extra moi'th, and the opportunity was seized by the Exhibition executive to send the band on tour, to allow thoso who had been unable to visit Auckland an opportunity to hear its ma._niiicent performances. The band has already slaved, at Dunedin, Timaru, Christchurch, and Wellington, on its way to Auckland: and in each of those centres it met with a success entirely commensurate with its splendid reputation. The Exhibition itself owes a great sharo of its success to the presence of the band, which has nlayed every day to large audiences. The box plans will bo opened for the bookin** of reserved scats at the Dresden next Thursday.
