.. » ■"■ ■ r ■ HALSWELL. The monthly meeting of tho HalsvreU County Council was held on Tuesday. Present—Messrs Eaglesome (chairman), Morten, Fenner, J. Gilmour, and Murphy. Correspondence was read from 11. Hockey, complaining of the nuisance caused by cattle grazing on Tankerville road. It was resolved to summons the owners. From J. Kelly, offering to take over ih© contract for cleaning drains and river.—Declined. From J. H. Green, regarding Halswell Hall Committee's rates, asking for some concession as the hall was not completed until the middle of the year. It was resolved to remit half the rates. From the Town Clerk, regarding "Municipal Sunday." Messrs W. Fenner and J. Gilmour -were requested to attend on behalf of the Council.
