AMUSEMENTS.
SYDENHAM PICTURES. There was a large audience to witness the final _crc_ning of the current programme at the Sydenham Pictures last night. To-night a complete change will be given, and will include the pic-ture-drama entitled "The Call." It is by the Vitngraph Company, and is said to be exceedingly good, the acting being realistic and the kinematograpliy exceptionally clear. picture features a great smash on an* American railway. Tho supporting numbers are the latest Gaumoiit Graphic, "A Deal in Oil" (drama), "Spots on tho Orrjv-" (scenic), "The Boctor's Duty" (Emson drama), Animated News" (topical), "Stereoscopic Study of Flowers" (educational), "Tommy's FirstLove Affair," and "How' Filmy Won His Sweetheart." OPERA HOUSE. The Royal Banzai Family played to a crowded audience at tho C-pera Houso last night, and the Japanese troupe of five clover artists had a tremendous reception, and were greeted with prolonged applause. Huntress, in his female impersonations and classical dancing, was also enthusiastically received, and other members of the company were very-successful in their items. To-night the programme will be repeated. On Saturday a soecial matinee will be given at 2.30 p.m., when patrons will be afforded an opportunity of crossing the stage and inspecting tho gorgeous.sotting and costumes of tho Banzai Family, under the personal direction of Mr Banzai. GRAND THEATRE. There will be a change of programmo to-day at the Grand Theatre. "The Mysterious Photograph" will" be the principal attraction, and is stated to be a great moral drama. It deals with a youth given to gambling, and who prefers thieving •to honest work. He goes from bad to worse, but after serving a sentence _in gaol he reforms. Thero will be .supporting programmo of a varied character, including "The Ineuranee Agent" (Kalem drama), "Tale of a Cat" (comodv). "Father Fetched Doctor" .(comedy). The "All Blacks'"film will,also be shown again by tho special request of a lflrce number of patrons. This picture has proved to be very popular. . QUEEN'S THEATRE. The- enrrent programme at tha Queen's Continuous Picture Theatre, Hereford street, drew good houses at all the f-PFsioit't yesterday. The stirring drama of .the sea, "The Sea Eternal," attracted considerable attention, and was greatly enjoyed. Tho comedy film,."Archie and theßell Boy," i was also received" appreciatively. The programme will be shown for the last time to-dny.and to-night.:; .__... HA WARD'S PICTURES. There was "a capital house at His Majesty's Theatre last night,' when the current; week's programme of Hayward's Pictures, which ihcludes the splendid mythical drama in colour, '■ 'P.syche," was repeated.. Tho supporting pictures, notably "Sbhnitz the Tailor" (Key_to.no comedy), - "Scenes m Chovreuse'.' (travel film), and the -latest Pathe-Gazette were also highly appreciated. To-night the same pictures will bo shown. - -- .; GLOBE PICTURES.' .', ' The new programme to be presented at tho Globe Theatre to-day will include the following films:V-"The Detective'- Stratagem," "A Kiss of Retribution," and ■'.■.. "Stag© Struck" (dramas). "Now Cure for Gout," and "A Circumstantial' Hero" (comedies), and the latest English Qazette (topical). . The pictures will be shown continuously from noon till 10.30 p.m. V \ FULLER'S PICTURES. . , Thd great Vita graph production, 'The Call/ is tho principal attraction at the Colosseum this week. There aro some'excellent supporting pictures, notably "The Doctor's Duty" and "Stereoscope Study of Flowers." A feature of the' evening's entertain-, ment is.the music, by the orchestra. The same numbers wiH be presented to-night.- ■ - PAUL I>UFAULT f Mr Paul Thifault will give two farewell (■oncftrts at the Theatre Royal on Friday and Saturday, February Gth and 7th. Mr _>ufault "will bo supported by Miss Pauline Bindley (soprano), Mr Ernest Toy (violinist), and Mr Harold Whittle, will, as usual, act- as accompanist.
