Mr D. C. Bates, Government Meteorologist, eupplied the following weather summtry and forr-caet at 5 p.m. yesterday: — The barometer has been unsteady, with & falling tendency, and the winds have been variable, with moderate to strong no:tberlice predominating. Tho weather haa been very warm and humid. Heavy rain fell during the night in Wcetland and ehowere in tho southern districts!-' Present indications aTe for a falling barometer everywhere, with warm and humid • conditions. Increasing cloudiness and general rain aw likely to follow before the end of th« week. Strong northerly winds will probably prevail.
