The University Senate to-day re eolved to confer the degree of Bachelo of Science in Homo Science upon Mis Helen Margaret Cameron, Anderson', Bay, aud Miss Annie Elizabeth Steven son, Si. Leonard's. These are the firs degrees in Home Science granted ii Australasia. In regard to Home Science examina. tions, the Medical Committee recom mended that the following be examm ers:—Physics, as in medicine; inorganic chemistry, as in medicine biology, as in medicine; physiology Professor Malcolm and other examiner* as in medicine; applied chemistry ; Part 1., Miss H. Rawson and Professor Malcolm; applied chemistry, Pari 11., Miss H. Rawson and Professoi Inglis; hygiene and sanitary science Professor Champtaloup and Professoi Boys-Smith ; household economics. Miss H. Rawson and Mr if. i>. Bedford. The committee recommended, further, that where there are joint examiners, they should present a. joint report, .and for this purpose they should, if necessary, confer. Where there is an irreconcilable difference of opinion between thenv the matter should be referred to the Chancellor, who shall have power to appoint an umpire. The recommendations were adopted.
