He sustained severe injuries to'his head, necessitating hisremoval to the hospital. A man named. Richard Hepple, employed in the Railway Goodsyard, met with a painful accident yesterday by running' a" nail into the instep of his foot. A young man named Moore, of Finarty road, "whilst driving in a,.cart,:collided with a train at a level .crossing. The horse was killed, and both shafts .of the cart broken, but Mooro - escaped with . slight concussion of the brain and minor injuries. He was brought to the Stratford Hospital for treatment. • BLENHEIM. January. 27. A middle-aged, unmarried man named James Ford, a tailor, was found drowned in the Omaka river this afternoon. A labourer named John Illingworth, aged '44 years, was drowned in the Wairau river, Spring Creek v yesterday. Hβ attempted to swim across the river, but sank when half-way across. It is presumed that he was eeized with cramp.
