RANGIORA.
A petition is in circulation in Rangiora to take a poll to have the borough rated on the unimproved value. Already more than half the required signatures have been obtained. The annual meeting of Uhe Loyal Rangiora Lodge of Oddfellows was held on Monday evening, the attendance being small. The balance-sheet showed th© sick and funeral fund to have made an advance of £438 os 3d, the total credit being £11,219 2s 9d, although having paid £455 os lOd iv sick relief and £60 in funeral dues during the year. The management fund showed a balance of £75 3s 6d, being £3 14s lid less than tho previous year. The surplus bonus fund was £471 6s 3d in credit' The benevolent fund had a credit of £42 10s. The total funds were £11,308 2s 6d, of which £10,881 was invested in freehold properties, yielding £563 17s yearly iv interest. The report, after comparing the position of the lodge against the previous year, vhowed an increase of funds of £377 Is 7d. Tho membership was 31. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. BrosL Barrell. Bell, Gelding. TTills, and Marshall wero appointed delegates to the Ashley District meeting. Bro. C. R. Golding was nominated for the office of Doputy G.M. of the district.
