CANTERBURY SALEYARDS COMPANY.
The fortieth annual report of the directors of tho Canterbury Salovards Company, Ltd., is as follows:—Tho directors, in presenting their annual report for the year ending 31st December, 1913! are pleased to bo able to congratulate the shareholders on tho satisfactory position, both as regards the entries of stock and the financial standing. The numbers of sheep and pigs passing through the yards aro approximately the same as tho previous year's entries; cattle show a considernhle increase The quantities of stock passed through the yards during the twelve months were :—789,261 sheen 28,701 pigs, 29,126 cattle. The profit and loss statement, after pioviding for depreciation, shows a balance of £1265 13s 2d, which with the balance brought forward from +**- previous year, after paying the dividend for that .year, leaves a total of £1287 3s 7d. Of this amount an interim dividend was r>aid, absorbing £016 2s 7d, lcavinc a balance to bo dealt with of £071 ls. which your directors recommend should be appropriated as follows :— £ s. d. To payment of a dividend of 4 per cent, on the paidup capital, making a. total dividend of 8 percent, for the year ... 616 2 7 To carry forward .. 54 18 ."> ™ ,- 671 1 0 The directors who retire hy rotation *re Messrs E.
